STX Kickboxing at Powercore MMA
STX Kickboxing – short for Savate-Thai Cross Training – is a hybrid striking system built by Erik Paulson, one of the most respected names in mixed martial arts and the founder of Combat Submission Wrestling. Paulson developed STX by fusing Savate, Muay Thai, Western boxing, and Jun Fan Kickboxing into a single, seamless system, drawing on decades spent training under legends like Dan Inosanto, Rigan Machado and the Gracie family.
At Powercore MMA, this system isn’t secondhand knowledge – it’s part of Head Coach Rahneer Fabi’s own martial arts journey. Rahneer trained directly under Erik Paulson, which means our STX Kickboxing program comes straight from the source, taught with the same principles and detail Paulson instilled in Rahneer himself.
STX blends five striking arts into one adaptable approach:
- Boxing – Precision punches, head movement, and footwork fundamentals
- Panantukan (Filipino Dirty Boxing) – Elbows, hand traps, and street-smart counter-striking
- Savate (French Kickboxing) – Fast, technical kicks and constant, elusive movement
- Jun Fan/JKD Kickboxing – Bruce Lee’s philosophy of economy and efficiency of motion
- Muay Thai – Devastating knees, clinch work, and crushing elbow strikes
The result is a fighter who isn’t boxed into one style – you’ll throw a boxing jab, follow with a Muay Thai knee, and counter with a Panantukan elbow, all in the same combination. That versatility is what makes STX so effective, whether you’re training for competition or just want the most complete striking workout available.
